Though that solution is actually pretty big, appreciation of the little moments on this trip seems to be key to not giving up. As I've said before, hiking all day isn't actually that exciting in itself, so really soaking up every one of those slight and brief moments of joy is absolutely necessary.

For me right now, that involves staring at this tiny piece of shoe in front of me while it is falling into the trash can.
