This is a(n almost complete) list of everything I'm starting with. I'm trying out some new accessories that I didn't take with me on the AT two years ago and expect to drop a few of those within the first 2 weeks.

I purchased my pack before (re)building my first-aid kit. Two years ago I carried a tiny bag with a few band-aids, antibiotic ointment, and nitrile gloves. After a Wilderness First Responder certification course this past winter I decided to put together a kit that would actually be of use should anything happen. The new kit takes up ~8L of the 45L pack.

Space is certainly at a premium in there and it will be quite an adventure balancing functional equipment, food, and water requirements. I will be doing a post-hike comparison of gear and reviews of items.
