April 18
While we were up at 6:00am, we didn't hit the trail until 9:45 am. Laundry had to be sorted, the cafe had to be set back up, hotdogs acquired, and a hitch back to the trail found.
The first 14 miles of the day were hot with occasional breezes. We were playing leapfrog with a number of people from the night before. We stopped for a lunch break under a small patch of shade to wait out the heat and made the hotdogs. It's amazing how good gas station hot dogs with stale buns are after 4 days of granola bars.
We made it to the water cache at around 4:00pm unsure of what we would find. Doza/Drop-trou and Sabrina were there along with a few others we hadn't met. The water cache itself was three pallets stacked with packages of gallon water jugs. It was pretty amazing. So amazing that we forgot to take a photo.
As the crowd at the water grew we decided to pack up and head out to push another ~3 miles to camp on the next ridge. Doza and Sabrina caught up to us there and we had a jolly little dinner circle before all laying out to sleep under the stars.
