Everyone slept like a rock on the soft grass finally out of the wind and we slept in until 6:00am. The morning was a cool beautiful walk through pine forest to the next spring. Once again, the PCT amazed us with how quickly you can change biomes.
We hung out at the spring for quite a while before beginning the last 7 miles of the day to Landers Meadow Spring, the last reliable water source for another 43 miles. It was a mostly flat section and Rickets, Loopy, and I chatted the whole way there. A nice change of pace from the at-your-own-pace solo hiking that had dominated the last few days.
True to its name, the spring had a very nice meadow next to it. We set up in the shade at the edge to hang out for the next few hours. Rafiki and Eeyore showed up shortly thereafter and joined the half-asleep group spread out on the ground. The group we had met at lunch the day before began trickling in.
By 4:30pm the sun had shifted enough that we were all in the sun and decided to move down to a grove of pine trees at the bottom of the meadow. With the 2:00am wake up approaching faster than expected a relatively quick dinner was had (we had been eating all afternoon after al) followed by an early bedtime.
